Affinity Trust is proud to be working in Leicester for the first time, to support adults with learning disabilities moving into supported living from residential services and other settings. The people we will be supporting are going through a big, but exciting period of change in their lives and need staff to support them who will work in person-centred and innovative ways to make a real difference to their lives.
Four men will be moving to these new, purpose-built flats; the men have learning disabilities and can be very challenging towards staff, who will therefore be required to be confident and skilled in dealing with people who challenge and working in positive ways which reduce the challenges presented.
Due to the nature of this service, we require a team of male workers.
Staff will need to be committed to the concepts of individualised and person-centred support and be able to provide personal care, enable the men to live their daily lives at home, develop new skills and build full and meaningful lives through a range of activities at home and in the local community.
This post is to start approximately December 2010.
